Dietitians: Information for Applicants for Licensure

Legislative change. Effective July 1, 2016, all applicants for a Florida health care profession license no longer have to take a 2 hour Prevention of Medical Errors CE course prior to licensure.

Once licensed, the licensee must take a 2 hour Prevention of Medical Errors course every two year license renewal period, including the first renewal.

If you are in the middle of your application process, check with your Council to find out if you still have to take the Medical Errors courses as part of your application or not.

A course on HIV/AIDS is not required prior to licensure. A 3 hour HIV/AIDS course must be taken after licensure and prior to your first license renewal.
